Herts Carpets was formed in October 2016, this was a collaboration between Matt Lenzie, Founder and one of his friends who was a carpet fitter. The business was originally designed to as a digital platform to generate leads and then provide a mobile estimate to customers in the comfort in their own homes. The business has now expanded and has a team of fitters and is currently carrying out between 60-80 estimates per week.

Herts Carpets offers a huge range of high quality flooring materials to our clients across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire including carpets, vinyl, wood, laminate flooring and much more.
Challenges
One of the challenges which the businesses has faced has been growing as quickly as possible without accepting external funding, this has led to various growing pains, Joining the University of Hertfordshire Incubator has provided useful external feedback and guidance on how best to grow further from new sources of business.
Digital Marketing
Matt Lenzie, founder and Director has a background in financial services and has been involved in raising millions of £’s for companies in the UK. Matt has also invested a lot of time and energy in learning and applying digital marketing strategies to businesses, of which Herts Carpets is an example.
Carpet Shop
The next evolution for the business is the opening a shop which is opening in June 2019 in Southdown, Harpenden and hopefully this should enable the business to further grow.
The next step for the business is to expand our team of estimators further and we are seeking to double the size of the business over the next 12 months.
Matt’s Business Tip
The one piece of advice that we would give is to treat your customers as you would like to be treated, that is the approach that we have and we think that has enabled us to grow quickly.
